Valentine's Day

We started off V-day with my mom's fun package. The girls loved it and loved the fun Valentin's Day clothes they got. They could not wait to put them on...we also got some cards from Kurt's parents for each one of the girls! They loved the dollar it came with and the doggies on the front!
Kurt and I went and celebrated Valentine's Day on Saturday. We went to a "non-chain" restaurant that Kurt had heard of from a friend. It is called Gabrielle's and is suppose to be one of the top in Denver. I was very impressed, since that is so not Kurt's style. It was fun to try something new and the food was really good too and not all that expensive. I am sure the waitress was very disappointed when I told her we would not be drinking any wine! After we went and saw Just Go With It. We thought is was pretty funny. I was in shock though as I saw some people coming in with their kids that looked about Annie's age....really?!!
On Sunday night I was up pretty late getting the girls Valentine's ready and also candy bar bouquets for Kurt to deliver to dental offices. I thought they all turned out really well. I got Kurt P90X for V-day. He has been talking about it forever and as an addition to that, I told him I would do it with him. I may even take before and after pics. He got me and the girls a certificate for manicures. Then that night I told him I was a little sad I didn't get flowers from him and he started chuckling. He told me he was going to, but couldn't buy them on Sunday and when he went to the store Monday the roses all looked pretty nasty and would have only lasted like a day. So, he took that money and got me two gift cards to go out to lunch....I LOVED it!! I really like to go out for lunch and now I won't have to feel so guilty!!
That night I did a heartish dinner and decorated the table...it turned out pretty cute. All the girls had parties at school and got way too much candy...they loved their valentines. They all decided to make their own this year for their friends and it totally reminded me of when I grew up and we all made our own. They had a fun time doing it....We got some cute Valentine's notes from the girls. Madelyn's was to me and said, I love my mommy because she gives me candy after lunch! Good to know I'm good for something, I guess..
Alyse is just learning how to write on her own and wrote us note.....my mom is love uen (loving) love alyse - dad you ur (are) the bue (best) dad. She was so proud of herself, but told me she didn't have time to finish it. She also came home with a heart shaped paper that said, I love mom. I love dad. I love Annie. But I love unicorns most of all.
For the past couple of weeks she has been overly obsessed with pink unicorns. It is the craziest thing. I happened upon one at the grocery store and got it for her for Valentine's Day. She loves it. She also likes pink again, which was her least favorite color for a few months now.
Annie wrote each of us really nice notes
Kurts - Dear Dad, You're the best Dad I've ever had. I love you as my soccer coach. I love you because you take care of me when I'm hurt. I love you so much. Love, Annie
Mine - Dear Mom, I think you're special to me because you drive me to school. I think the best thing is that you go on mommy daughter dates with me. I think you're the best in the world. Love, Annie
It's nice to feel loves, since I normally get a lot of No's and yelling at me :)

Newborn pictures

We got Kendell's newborn pictures taken when she was three weeks old by Amber Allen. The same lady who took the girls pictures in October. I love them, just sad that it took so long for me to get them back. Kendell is now 8 weeks and 2 days old. I really do not know where the time has gone. She is doing really well at night. I usually get a 5-6 hour stretch of no eating and then another 4 hour after that. If I could only get myself to sleep during that same time I'd be set. As it is though, it's the only time I get a few things done. This fourth kid seems to be kicking my behind! I feel like I can not get or keep caught up on anything. Maybe some day I'll get a routine down and feel like I am a getting something accomplished! This may be a picture overload, but I couldn't decide on any favorites, so I am putting up all of them!!! The first ones she is wearing the hat my sister, Rebecca, made for her....she did not like it on, but I needed a few pics since she did such a good job making it and it looked so cute on!

Kendell-harness

Long story....at birth the doctor could dislocate her hips, so went to see an orthopedic guy....he couldn't do it and at her 2 week check the doctor couldn't either, so we thought we were good! but they wanted us to come in for a precautionary ultra sound at 6 weeks....so, her hips are not deep enough in the socket and she has to wear this harness for about 2 1/2 to 3 months....24 hours a day. I get to take it off three times a day for 15 minutes...she hates it and has turned from my best baby to a bit of a stinker!! I feel so bad for her that I usually let her keep it off for 30 minutes. The minute I take it off she stretches her legs straight and holds them there for a few seconds and then just keeps kicking them. I also have to go in for weekly appointments to make sure it's holding her hips in the right spot....once they look good she has to wear the harness for another 4-5 weeks...it's called hip dysplasia as a broad term...or for her specifically its bilateral hip subluxation....the prognosis looks good for the harness to work...it works in 90 percent of cases. I just feel so bad for her...not because it hurts her, but I think it makes her uncomfortable and she gets so frustrated right after we put her back in it!

We just went back to the doctor on Friday (2-11) and everything is looking great. Her hips are stabilizing already. She'll have to be in the harness for another 4 weeks full time and then 3ish weeks after that just at nap and bedtime. I think I might ask the doctor, however, if I can keep her in in during the day and be out of it at night! I think I might want to get some sleep at night too:) It really has been the pits because she is so happy when I take her out of it. I usually let her go 30-40 minutes out of it, especially if I need to get something done or if she is super smiley with me...
