Sayings and little stories

So, I have a stack of papers from the past couple of months and a few from last year of my girls sayings or stories about them. I keep thinking I'll put them in their "books", but since I am so behind on those I need to put them somewhere to preserve them for history's sake! I only have each girls first year done so far. So, here are a few things about my girls....my guess is they are mostly from Alyse, but we'll see :) Then, I can throw that stack of paper away and my mom will be so happy to see one less pile in my house:)
I unfortunately don't have a date on this one, but my guess is it's from a few years back...I'll say 2008 -
Alyse has been known as quite the crier, so one day after Alyse has been crying for some time Annie says to me, "I think when she cries her brain gets a little bit smaller and she can't remember stuff."

This one is from September 2009-
Alyse- "Mom, who's your favorite?" (meaning my favorite brother)
Mom- "All my brothers"
Alyse- "I don't think so, I think it's Michael." (with a sly grin)
Mom- "Who's your favorite?"
Alyse- "Uncle Michael"

Last year early 2009
Annie was not feeling well in church and was in the middle of coloring a picture, so Alyse asked if she wanted her to finish her picture. Then she would ask Annie what color she wanted each thing to be colored on her page.

Jan 2009
Alyse kept getting out of bed and it was so hard to get mad at her...she would come down the stairs and sneak over to the couch and then Kurt and I would ask her what she was doing out of bed...she would say, "I just can't remember sometimes if I love you." Then she would go back up and repeat this, only each time she would come up with something different that she couldn't remember if she loved or not, such as the decorations, grandpa and grandma, her blanket, etc.

At the dinner table one night when Kurt was not home, the girls were talking about who the funniest in the family is...this is what they came up with:
Dad's the funniest, then Annie, then Alyse, then mom, no not mom, then Madelyn, your last mommy-you're not ever very funny.
Alyse- "Sometimes you scare us"
Annie- "But you are the scariest"
Thanks girls!

10/2009
Madelyn had gotten Mike and Ikes as a treat and dumped them all into her car seat, Alyse observing this says, "I did not dump mine out because mine are not dumpers, mine are chocolates."

11/12/2009
After drawing names for cousin gifts on my side of the family - Annie drew Kate and Kate drew Annie - Annie exclaims "This is the best day of my life!"

11/29/2009
Annie and Alyse are doing magic tricks. Annie is actually doing it to Alyse...the whole coin coming out of the ear, which Annie is not that smooth at...
Annie puts the coin in her hand and asks Alyse, "Where is it?"
Alyse- "I don't know, maybe in my ear?"
Annie then proceeds to go over and pull it out of her ear....the girls are dying laughing in astonishment that it was in Alyse's ear.
A little later Alyse says, "It was in my ear and it didn't even hurt!"

3/10/2010
Alyse and Madelyn are trying to share one of our green kitchen chairs, when I over hear this:
Alyse- "Madelyn scoot over, I'm falling off. You have a big bum, I have a skinny bum. Scoot over!"
Then again, 2 minutes later:
Alyse- "Madelyn scoot over. I'm falling off. You are the chubbiest in our family!"

3/31/2009
I am thinking that Madelyn is finally getting the hang of time out in her room...however, now when she gets put in there, about 30 seconds later she comes running out saying, "I have to go potty"....so I put her on and nothing comes out. The tactics are starting already!!! I am in trouble...

4/19/2010
We were in the car listening to music when all of a sudden Alyse says "Mom, I'm just not listening to the music, I'm having a day dream." which of course I hear the exact same thing from Madelyn 5 seconds later!

4/21/2010
I go downstairs and Madelyn has colored all over her hands, so we clean them up and go over the rules again...our hands are not paper. We only color on paper. She agrees and I finish getting ready. About 10 minutes later we are leaving to go run errands...I see pen on the front side of her hand
Mom- "Madelyn, I thought we talked about this, we do not color on ourselves!"
Madelyn- "Mom, I didn't. It's a pretendable"
Mom- "What's that?"
Madelyn- "It's a buca bock."
Mom- "What's that?"
Madelyn- "It means you have to write on your hand."
Madelyn is dead serious throughout this whole conversation...what's a mom to do?!!

4/28/2010
Alyse's leg is hurting her this night and we have told her that when her legs are hurting it usually means that she is growing, so....
Alyse- "Mom, feel my legs. I think they might be growing. Can you feel it?"
So, I feel it and tell her yes I can feel them growing
Alyse- "Mom, the other one is starting to hurt too. Feel it to see if it's growing too!"
She was so excited that her legs were growing!

5/12/2010
Alyse was being a terrible listener and so I told her that she was not able to have family scripture reading with us until she was all ready for bed, like her other sisters already were. That was to be her punishment. Well she kept coming in the room, not ready, so I finally threatened her with a spanking if she came in again without being ready...I thought the problem was solved. So, later that night, after Kurt got home, I was telling Alyse how sad I was that she had to miss scriptures (we had talked about the birth of Jesus, so I thought it was perfect.) However, she informed me, "No, I heard it mom. I heard it through the little hole in the door and into the hole in my ear. You talked about Jesus."
So much for punishment....sneaky eavesdropper!!!

I so enjoyed all those stories. These girls are growing up way too fast.

Your girls are hilarious...totally made me laugh! Loved the one about you being "the scariest." I'd probably get that honor in our house too. :)

That was some pretty good stuff! Of course my favorite has to be Alyse and her favorite Uncle!
